Edit text while dictating

You might already use your voice to dictate text that you want written on your Chromebook. Now you can also use voice commands to edit that text. Try “undo”, “move to the next character”, or “delete”, or even “help” to see a list of editing commands. To turn it on and try the new commands, enable Dictation mode in Settings.

Make GIFs with your camera

You can now also make GIFs using your Chromebook camera. In “Video” mode on your Camera app click on the “GIF” button. Then you can record fun five second videos that will automatically turn into a GIF. Once you’re done, it’s easy to share with a click.

Change where your screen captures save

Now you can customize where you want screen captures to automatically be saved – instead of the default “Downloads” folder. Open the screen capture tool and click the setting gear to select a Google Drive or local folder for all future screen captures.

Looking to make a switch?

Switching from Mac or Windows is as easy as logging in. In just three simple steps, you’ll find your files and photos ready to go on your new Chromebook.
