Best machine of my 20 yr CPAP history
John G.· Review provided by cpap.com · May 4, 2024
This is my fourth CPAP in 20 years. The machines keep getting better, smaller, but also more expensive. I was shocked by the price of the ResMed AirSense. However, it is by far the quietest, most responsive and most comfortable machine I've used. It is very easy to travel with. ↵↵I found the adaptive humidification to be superior to the other machines in my fleet with a significant reduction in rainout. However, if you like to sleep in a cold environment then rainout will always be an issue, though it can be greatly reduced by using a heated hose. I continued using my old heated hose with this new machine and it worked OK; 6 months ago I purchased the ResMed integrated heated hose and I like it better because it delivers cooler air, and it's powered by the AirSense - I don't have to carry a separate power brick for the hose. So this makes travelling a little bit easier. Of course, the integrated heated hose is also on the expensive side. ↵↵One minor annoyance - at this price point, I would expect the humidifier reservoir to be made with corrosion-resistant metal and be compatible with plain tap water. I was annoyed that no, the manual says to use distilled water only. ResMed offers a tap-water-compatible reservoir, for an extra price. For what it's worth I've never used distilled water in mine for over a year, and the reservoir still looks OK.
It’s a great machine. I

It’s a great machine. I like the fact that I can tweak the settings so easily and get pressure just right for myself.
Hold down both big screen buttons at the same time and it’ll go into an advanced setup
It starts with only a 4 which made me feel like I’m choking and grasping for air.
I changed that to 8, much better and I found out that above 13 I would wake up with chest pains, so I set it to 11 and it’s so much better.
The on-screen advanced morning report is excellent, it tells me exactly what happened last night for my previous sleep.
How the mask fit, how many interruptions per hour, great machine.
The humidifier is excellent, Remember to fill the reservoir while it’s closed. Don’t try to open the clamshell and fill the water. That’s not the correct way to do it. You keep it closed and stand it up and fill the water up through the soft rubber connector.
if you think that you filled up too much water, keep it closed and just tip it over in your sink and any excess water above Max will drain out of it
I fill it up with water directly from Poland Spring hot water dispenser that’s in my kitchen
Really great machine, I hope it lasts as long as the Previous one I owned.
It’s really good the way this one is connected to the web and as soon as you get up, they send you an email to tell you about your sleep and make suggestions.
It’s good for novices. I’ve been using CPAP machines since the year 2000 so I’m a professional.
But even this professional is very impressed.
I love the machine.
A good CPAP for those needing flexible apnea care

I took advantage of the pre-Black Friday sale on this unit. Doing so allowed me to get a purchased unit cheaper than using a medical supply company and now I am not beholden to my insurance company’s whims. This is the same machine given by my DME company originally, so I knew how to use it. I like the machine overall. It’s generally easy to troubleshoot and it was easy to use the clinical menu to set the settings at the same levels originally set by my doctor on my insurance-covered machine. I also put it under a nice, heavy (but open to air) computer stand so I don’t waste all of my side table on the machine. I use the machine as a set-pressure machine (CPAP) but used to use it as an APAP at first. I simply had to give the new serial number to my chest/sleep doctor so the doctor could read and update my information. I had a couple of issues with my Rx not being broad enough, but the CPAP. com team assisted and my doctor easily submitted a new Rx with broader coverage. I will use CPAP. com again, I’m sure and I hope this machine lasts for many use-hours.
Great CPAP

At first I wanted to say it was more of C-RAP vs C-PAP. But then I came to terms with any issues I had, were a 'me' thing vs the actual machine. That and the nature of the beast really. It sucks to have to clean it all the time, even though I have the UV sanitizer. Just the need to do so. Kind of like laundry. Why god, why is it just the worst. Anyways, what I was attempting to get across was, having to wear a CPAP isn't ideal, and if you're a light sleeper and have insomnia, it takes getting used to. But this particular model is so freaking nice. You can really tell it is well made with quality materials. Totally worth it.
Now that was my review. Now will be the AI enhanced version of my words.
Initially, I was inclined to dismiss this device as more of a nuisance than a genuine solution – "C-RAP" versus "C-PAP," if you will. However, upon further reflection, I realized that any issues I experienced were more a matter of personal adjustment rather than inherent flaws in the machine. Admittedly, the maintenance aspect can be somewhat tedious, especially the need for constant cleaning, even with the aid of a UV sanitizer. It's akin to the seemingly never-ending cycle of laundry – a necessary but exasperating task.
That being said, it's crucial to emphasize that wearing a CPAP may not be the most comfortable experience, especially for light sleepers and those struggling with insomnia. Acclimatization is key. Despite these challenges, I must admit that this particular model is truly exceptional. Crafted from high-quality materials, its superior design and construction are evident. Overall, the benefits offered by this CPAP machine make it a worthwhile investment.
And now the fully AI written review.
