Honor Magic6 Pro review

GSMArena Team, 25 February 2024.

Introduction

Honor has another spectacularly-specced cameraphone for us once again - the Magic6 Pro goes global. A super-high-res telephoto unit promises great results at both its native focal length and double that, while the primary camera comes with a dual aperture lens for a bit more control over depth of field without losing too much low-light capability. Of course, surrounding that camera, there's all the other good stuff you'd expect from a proper high-end phone, too.

Take the display, for example. The 6.8-inch LTPO OLED has brightness to spare, adaptive high refresh rate and Dolby Vision support, among other things. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is state-of-the-art, too, while the battery capacity is among the highest in the class.

Also part of the package are smaller niceties like high-speed wireless charging (fast wired too, naturally), an infrared emitter, and an IP68-rated dust and water resistance. And, circling back to imaging hardware, a wider-than-most front camera with a 3D depth sidekick should be great for both selfies and speedy and secure unlocks.

Honor Magic6 Pro unboxing

The unboxing experience isn't much of an experience as there's not a whole lot to find inside the slimline package of the Magic6 Pro. Other than the phone, we got a USB-C cable, and that's that. There wasn't a case in our box like we got with the Magic5 Pro.

Honor Magic6 Pro review

There wasn't an adapter bundled with our review unit, but some of the documentation provided to us by Honor indicated that there should be an included 80W charger (to match the specified maximum charging rating of the phone), so check with your retailer. It could, alternatively, be an oversight in the documents.

This a correction to my previous reply. I was wrong, i just tested the included 6A charging cable and it actually matches the aftermarket cable in charging speed.
