Men’s Perfume Recommendations
When looking for your next scent, it needs to give you confidence and compliments. These are (in our opinion) the best fragrances on the market! These are organised in to five important categories*:
* Winter fragrances will fall in to either the dating or partying category as these are usually either orientals or gourmands!
Versatile
Yves Saint Laurent Y Eau de Parfum - This is a fragrance that is an ‘easy reach’ and can be used in any environment.
Scent: A ‘shower gel’ fragrance that stays sharp and fresh throughout the day with prominent apple & herbaceous notes.
Performance: 8 - 10 hours longevity with 3 feet projection for the first 2 hours
Occasions: This can be worn in any environment as a ‘signature’ fragrance.
Pros: Big compliments, high quality and sustains its freshness in the highest heat.
Cons: Not unique, as other scents in the same category of ‘blue’ fragrances exist.
Professional
Prada L’Homme - This scent specialises towards work or school by being clean and refined.
Scent: A masculine floral scent. An incredibly clean and professional powdery soap!
Performance: 6 - 8 hours with 1 foot projection
Occasions: Predominantly a professional environment but can be worn for day time casual wear.
Pros: Professional, clean and inoffensive
Cons: Linear and isn't 'sexy', this is for people who ‘mean business’.
Dating
Dolce and Gabbana The One Eau de Toilette - This is a close to the skin scent that makes you smell irresistible in close encounters…
Scent: A mix of amber, honey and tobacco. This has a perfect balance of sweetness and masculinity.
Performance: 4 hours longevity with 1 foot projection
Occasions: Date night scent that can be used all year round.
Pros: The ‘perfect’ scent, I have yet to meet anyone who doesn’t love it.
Cons: The performance. You need to be close for this to work its magic.
Partying
Jean Paul Gaultier Ultra Male - This is a fun and loud scent, designed to be a head turner in large crowds!
Scent: A supremely sweet combination of pear, vanilla and bubblegum!
Performance: 8 hours with 3 feet projection
Occasions: Partying or clubbing.
Pros: A Lady killer that pulls in a lot of compliments!
Cons: You need to have a ‘sweet tooth’ to enjoy this!
Summer
Nautica Voyage - Fragrances in the high heat can become overpowering, necessitating a more light scent.
Scent: A clean, ‘laundry detergent’ profile with a prominent cucumber note.
Performance: 6 hours longevity with 2 feet projection
Occasions: Day time warm weather for professional and casual environments.
Pros: Incredibly affordable and easy to like!
Cons: The synthetic quality can be ‘harsh’ to some people.
